HELLO SORRY IT HAS BEEN SO LONG. MIKE IS ON R&R WHICH HE SHOULD BE BACK SOON. I HAVE BEEN WRITING SOME OF THE ANGELS AND I APOLOGIZE THAT I HAVE NOT MAILED YOU GUYS BACK IN REFERENCE TO OUR UPDATE. WELL MOST OF MY GUYS HAVE BEEN ON R&R AND THEY HAVE RETURNED. MY TURN IS COMING UP TO GO ON LEAVE AND WELL I CANT NOT WAIT. I HAVE HAD A BABY SINCE I WAS HERE. HE WAS BORN OCT4TH AND WELL HIS NAME IS DARRIN AND I CANT WAIT TO GO SEE HIM WHICH LIKE I SAID SHOULD BE REAL SOON. MY GUYS ARE DOING GOOD AND THERE MORALE IS HIGH. RIGHT NOW WE ARE MORE THAN HALF WAY DONE WITH THIS DEPLOYMENT AND WE ARE DOING GOOD. IT IS KINDA OF QUIET TIME RIGHT NOW CAUSE RAMADA AFGHAN HOLIDAY FOR THIS MONTH. ALSO KIND OF SAID TIME CAUSE WE HAD A LOSS IN OUR BATTALION. HE LEFT FAMILY OF NEWBORN AND WELL WIFE AND SON SO IT IS SAID AND HE TOO JUST CAME BACK AND WELL HE IS NO LONGER HERE IN BODY BUT IN THE MINDS AND HEARTS HE WILL BE REMEMBERED. WE DO REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT AND IT HELPS PEOPLE ALWAYS
ASK HOW COME WE GET SO MANY GOODIES AND WELL WE LIKE TO TELL THEM THAT WE ARE SPECIAL AND WELL THAT IS WHY WE GET GOODIES AND WELL I KNOW WE ARE ALL SPECIAL BUT WE LIKE IT CAUSE THEY COME IN AND SAY HEY WHO DO YOU GUYS KNOW AND SOMETIMES WE JUST SAY WE HAVE ANGELS WATCHING OVER US AND WELL WE DO. Wow how time passes by so quickly. We are approaching the very busy month of September. The Afghanistan elections will occur and we feel very honored to have such a big part of this historical moment.

I would just like to say that we are fine and doing well for telling you what we are doing all I can really say is we are establishing communications and this is are third deployment we have been on and we are just about in our third month of support of OEF. Thank you for your support and we we try harrder to stay in touch with you

We are in our 3rd month of our combat deployment. There is so much to accomplish. I see the impact of our hard work when I look at the people of Afghanistan and how their quality of life has improved.

Here is a picture of a re-enlistment of one of our Paratroopers yesterday. It was 106 degrees outside…notice the smiles.

On a more personal note, one of our Paratroopers got the opportunity to get home to watch the birth of his first child last week. He barely made it.   90 minutes after he got home, she gave birth. Talk about timing!

I would like to take the opportunity to thanks everybody for supporting our soldiers while we are here to do our part with supporting the Global War on Terrorism. The letters, the packages, the postcards, etc.. It is all very much appreciated. To see their faces when they receive mail is just great.

We have 110V AC power in our living tents. We have laundry service provided which is great. Coffee and powdered creamers are welcome. Paper, pens, (school supplies) are always in great need. FLY tape, as crazy as it sounds. Snacks like pistachios, nuts, trail mix are welcome. Our unit is from North Carolina. I have soldiers from Mass, Arizona, Californa, Texas, Virginia, Alabama, Indiana in my section. We deal with communications (computers/technology) Thank you
