DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Peter C. Neesley, 28, of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., died Dec. 25 in Baghdad, Iraq, of an undetermined cause in a non-combat environment. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.

We are currently operating from a Command Outpost with limited resources . The troop is still doing well and we are making alot of progress in our sector. Our troop is currently working on trash clean-up projects and helping the local nationals with improving their bussiness's. We also help by providing humanitary aid and medical care wherever it is needed. I have had alot of responses, Thankyou all very much for your support. I will write and send pictures along with updates about our Troop.

Im a squad leader in HQ platoon. I am gunner on a HUMVEE for the 1SG and also work as the troop armorer. I would greatly appreciate anything so i can help keep my guys with extra supplies. We are currently at a location where we only recieve 1 meal a day and do not have access to a PX. Thankyou for your support.
